Just your garden variety journalist, playing hit or miss with adulthood.

Christopher Hitchens died of cancer today.

I won’t be arguing with his work any longer.

In this video, his last few quotes are simply haunting. Watch it. This man was NOT at peace with a godless death, although he seemed to be at peace with a godless life. Yet, peace and godlessness are antonyms. They truly, truly are.

All I feel is an overwhelming sense of sadness for this man.

You know how you never legitimately argue with the elderly or children, because they aren’t your equals? Although Hitchens was infinitely more intelligent than I’ll ever be, I don’t feel like he was an equal. He had no hope. In Christ, I have all the hope in the world. It wasn’t a fair fight.

“Well, I ought never to say that nothing would change my mind. So, shall I just say that no evidence, or argument, has been presented that would change my mind. But I like surprises.” - Christopher Hitchens

Christopher Hitchens, 1949 - 2011.

Via Vanity Fair:

Christopher Hitchens—the incomparable critic, masterful rhetorician, fiery wit, and fearless bon vivant—died today at the age of 62.
